When registering a medical condition in R&R, you can assign an original start date to the condition. By specifying an original start date, you can indicate that the condition began earlier.
Entering an original start date in the past can affect the number of waiting days granted and the distinction between short-term and long-term illnesses. This is also reflected in the reporting, as the illness may fall directly into the “long-term illness” category.
How can you assign an original start date to a disease?

Register a new illness in R&R. 2.
Select "chronic" as the illness type. 3.
Enter the original start date of the illness—you can choose any start date, but the default suggestion on the screen is the start date of the last completed illness. 4.
Select the reason for the new illness. 5. Save the illness record.
The new disease, along with its original onset date, has now been registered with the Research and Development Department.
