R&R Product Update, June 3, 2022

Supermarket

Twice a month, we publish an update on interesting developments and improvements in our WFM system , R&R. This issue covers vacation overviews, additional security measures, minimum screen resolution, DATEV payroll export, scheduled hours and labor costs in R&R Insights, as well as bug fixes and quality improvements.

Bug Fixes and Quality-of-Life Improvements

Over the past few weeks, our teams have been busy fixing bugs and making (minor) quality-of-life improvements. These changes are all aimed at making your daily interaction with R&R even smoother. Among other things, we’ve made the following changes:

Vacation Overview

This additional feature was previously announced in the last newsletter. It is now available in the system. The new vacation overview is displayed immediately when you open the absence overview. The complete overview, including absences due to illness, can be found on the second tab.

Export DATEV Payroll Accounting

The DATEV export feature was developed for the German market. It allows users to export payment data in a format supported by DATEV. We announced this export feature in our last newsletter. It is now live and ready for use.

Additional Safety Measures Within R&R

Security is an ongoing priority at R&R WFM. For this reason, we recently began implementing additional security measures for R&R. These measures also have implications for you as a user. Below, we briefly explain what is currently in development and what this means for you:

Use of a Unique Email Address

Starting in the third quarter of 2022, you’ll be required to use a unique email address. This email address will be used to notify you when your password expires. This is already the case for many users, but some users are still using an email address that doesn’t actually exist. This will soon no longer be possible. An email address can only be used for one account.

Multi-factor authentication

With multi-factor authentication (MFA), users must use a smartphone in addition to their username and password to access R&R. This ensures that only you can log in with your credentials. Development is currently in full swing. MFA will be rolled out gradually over the course of the next quarter.

Note: These changes do not apply if you log in using Single Sign-On. If you are unsure whether they apply to you, please contact the Service Desk.

Minimum screen resolution

In research and development, large departments are often used where it is desirable to display a lot of data on the screen. This way, the user has all the information at their fingertips to create the best possible schedule or evaluate a payment. For this reason, many users ask us to display more and more information on the screen. It is not possible to meet this demand if we also have to support the use of low-resolution screens. For this reason, we recently increased the minimum screen resolution to better meet this demand and display more information on the screen.

If you use a resolution that is too low, a message will appear at the bottom of the screen, and you may see a scroll bar. You can click this message away so it doesn't get in the way.

Planned Hours and Labor Costs in R&R Insights

Over the past period, we’ve been working hard to integrate R&R Insights with the schedule module. Over the next week, we’ll begin displaying scheduled hours and the corresponding labor costs from both the fixed and current schedules. Over the course of the summer, various other data points from both the work schedule and other parts of R&R will be made available in R&R Insights. We’ll provide more details on this in the next issue of the newsletter.
