R&R Product Update November 4, 2024

In this issue: More flexible regulations for 13-, 14-, and 15-year-olds under the Working Hours Act & the end of the transitional provision for Sunday pay.

More Flexible Regulations for 13-, 14-, and 15-Year-Olds Under the Working Hours Act

As stated in the Official Gazette(see: officielenbekendmakingen.nl), a number of new regulations will take effect on November 18 that will make it easier to employ 13-, 14-, and 15-year-olds on a flexible basis.

Of course, these adjustments were also made in R&R, effective with the work schedules for Week 47.

Note: If the work schedule for Week 47 has already been created, it often helps to briefly delete a shift and re-enter it; this will ensure that the new rules are applied. The new rules are automatically applied to shifts that are newly added to the work schedule.

What has changed?

If there is no class schedule available for a 13- or 14-year-old, R&R cannot correctly verify all the rules. In this case, a warning is displayed indicating that the class schedule is missing, and the verification must continue to be performed outside of R&R.

End of the Transitional Provision for Sunday Pay

Time sure flies! It has already been three years since the transitional arrangement for Sunday premiums under the CAO for the food sector was introduced. Employees hired before January 1, 2022, were still entitled to a 100% premium for a portion of the hours worked on Sundays over the past three years. This transitional arrangement remains in effect until the 52nd week of 2024 (for more details, see https://www.rr-wfm.com/blog-wijziging-zondagtoeslag/ ).

Starting in the first week of 2025, the 100% Sunday premium will no longer be paid at R&R, and all employees who are entitled to a Sunday premium will receive the “regular” 50% Sunday premium.

The information on the employee's screen relating to this policy remains visible for a while and eventually disappears.
